Overview
Biomin H® is a bio-preparation made of hen eggshells. One gram of the powder contains about 370mgof calcium, 0.6mgof phosphorus and 5mg ofmagnesium. There are also some traces of strontium, copper, zinc and fluor, which can either supplement or potentiate the effects of calcium. Contemporaryexperimental studies have shown multiple positive effects of Biomin H®. As the presence ofsomatomedine activity as well as trace amounts of growth factors were identified, the positive effecton the chondrocyte differentiation and cartilage growth can be expected. The positive effect ofBiomin H® on the bone density was repeatedly proved in animal models of ovariectomized femalerats. Clinical studies of postmenopausal and senile osteoporosis have shown that BiominH® reducesthe pain, increasesmobility, reduces osteoresorption and increases bone density or it arrests its loss.It improves mobility and has analgesic effects also in women with osteoarthritis. Experimentalanimal studies have shown that calcium bioavailability from Biomin H® is similar or better to thatfromcalcium carbonate. Clinical and experimental studies have shown that BiominH® has positiveeffects on the bone and cartilage and it is suitable in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
