Overview

The aim of the short review of literature is to sum up the information on acute viral myocarditis and chronic dilated cardiomyopathy, with a focus on identifying the situations when viral or auto-immune causes and targeted therapy aimed at progression mechanisms should be considered.

Keywords:
acute inflammatory myocarditis – pathogenesis – diagnosis – chronic cardiomyopathy – myocardial biopsy
