Results of the Investigation Among Participants of the Course in „Diagnostics and Pain Management in Rehabilitation”

Overview
The aim of this work was to present the results of an investigation performed among 151 participants of the educational courses in Diagnostics and Management of Pain in Medical Rehabilitation. The participants responded to questions focused on their education, their own opinions, and issues in pain management in patients treated with the use of the methods of rehabilitation and physical medicine. The results of the questionnaire showed deficiencies in their pregraduate and postgraduate education, both from the theoretical, and the practical point of view, in pain management, in particular, as applied to patients suffering from chronic pain. An important negative factor in their clinical practice is a lack of time for contact with these patients and physician-patient communication. On the other hand, in some patients an unsatisfactory degree of adherence to rehabilitation therapy and their unsatisfactory compliance have been registered. The quality of co-operation with specialists from different branches of medicine is, in some cases, a limiting factor for complex pain management.
