Introduction: The Chronic Otitis Media Questionnaire (COMQ-12) is a simple tool for assessing the quality of life in patients with chronic otitis media. It‘s already used in many countries within the otological community. Herein, we describe the double backward translation methodology and present the final Czech version of the questionnaire, COMQ-12 CZ. Methodology: Three experts translated the questionnaire from Czech into English. After discussion with a linguist, the authors compiled the final version, ensuring it was as comprehensible as possible while retaining the original meaning of the questionnaire. Subsequently, the Czech version was back-translated into English (“forward-backward translation”) to verify its correctness and accuracy with the original. Result: The result of this translation is the final Czech version of the Chronic Otitis Media Questionnaire (COMQ-12 CZ). Conclusion: The impact of chronic otitis media on quality of life is evident, and it can be effectively assessed using the COMQ-12. We present the Czech version, COMQ-12 CZ, which will be validated for the Czech population.
