Overview

In the majority of health care systems the offer to citizens as regards information on the qualityof offered health care is one of the important priorities of the health policy. The submitted paperdeals with the problem according to which criteria citizens select their general practitioner.Theauthors selected by quota selection a representative sample of 400 respondents from Brno. Thequestionnaire submitted to respondentswas focused on detection of information citizens requirefor selection of their general practitioner, and what type of information is available. The resultsindicate that there are controversies between the information requested by citizens and thatavailable to them. This pertains in particular to information on the professional qualities of thedoctor, achieved therapeutic results, surgery hours, and equipment of the surgery and waitingroom.
