Incidence of Violence Committed on Children in the Czech Republic

The author submits data on the incidence of violence committed on children, obtained from the department ofhealth, home office and the sphere of social welfare covering the period from 1995 to 2000. She compares theincidence of new cases during the given period and data presented by different departments and mentions the lackof uniform statistics as regards the classification of violence and age categories. The author summarizes also datafrom prevalence studies made in the nineties pertaining to some form of violence committed on children. Thesewere data from representative and descriptive studies where some forms of child abuse and neglect were the mainor partial problem.
