Overview
The authors present basic technical prerequisities for safe administration of nitric oxide (NO). Characteristics of its administration, principles ofNO a NO2 analysis and development trends of those equipment are outlined. The present philosophy on nitric oxide application is demonstrated onthe development line of Austrian company Messer Austria; its main advantage is compatibility with all generally used mechanical ventilators.
