Overview
Obesity during pregnancy is a significant health problem with increasing prevalence in the population of women of reproductive age. It is associated with an increased risk of maternal and fetal complications, adverse perinatal outcomes, and long-term health effects on both mother and child. The aim of this article is to summarize current knowledge about the impact of obesity on pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and to outline options for prevention and management.
