Effective hemostasis in bloodless surgery-review

Overview
During last decades, important progress has been made in the treatment of bleeding utilizing hemostatic agents, procedures and techniques. Local and general hemostatics are used in general open and laparoscopic surgery. The article briefly describes mechanisms of blood coagulation and possibilities of treatment of bleeding resulting from surgical operations.
