Overview

Every 5 years the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), a respected authority composed of experts nominated by the national societies of acute medicine, issued guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). „Reviewer“ of the texts is similar to the european institutions the European Resuscitation Council (ERC). Outside this regular publication of the ILCOR and ERC highlight the significant news with a high degree of evidence, which are in the period „between the guidelines“ published and in a certain way can change the recommendations of how to perform CPR. In recent guidelines from January 2018 is already unequivocally recommended when CRP adults combine compress the sternum with artificial breaths (frequency 30:2) and before by professionals preferred the technique of „hands only resuscitation“ remains as the basis for the initiation of CPR to by standers the layman, literally „any form of CPR better than no CPR...“. In recommendations CPR of children is not substantialy anything new to what we publish here in 2016 [4, 5].

Key words:
departure from the hands-only resuscitation, the combination of the compression of the stern and artificial respiration is 30:2
