In 2012, the Czech Republic joined the wordwide form of screening hearing in newborns. Until then hearing tests were performed only in high-risk newborns. The hearing disorder is a common congenital defect. In physiological newborns the incidence is 1 of 1000, in high-risk newborn the incidence of heaving impairment raises up to 20–40/1000th. In Faculty Hospital Brno started to perform the screening in 2013. The paper presents the results of the screening hearing for two past years, the organization of newborn hearing screening in the Faculty Hospital Brno, the problems that may occure and how to solve them.
