The authors describe the case-report of a 14-month-old girl with the history of intermittent dyspnoea charac-terized by her paediatrician as wheezing bronchitis. At the time of hospitalization the girl suffered repeatedly fromintermittent sudden inspiratory stridor, developing and disappearing very quickly, without a major change ofgeneral appearance. Laboratory findings were normal, throat and nose swabs were without pathogens, thepulmonary radiological finding was normal, allergy testing for the most common allergens were negative.Sonography did not prove gastrooesophageal reflux. Therefore fibrolaryngoscopy was indicated and proveda tumour of the left vocal cord. Following extraction of the tumour by direct laryngoscopy and histology confirmeda laryngeal papilloma.
