Acute myocardial infarction during pregnancy is a rare disease, nevertheless in recent yearsits incidence is due to several factors increasing.In the pathogenesis the first place is not held unequivocally by coronary atherosclerosis. Alsosome other mechanisms are involved, one of them being the hypercoagulation state duringpregnancy.From the therapeutic aspect the first place is held by achievement of reperfusion of theischaemic heart muscle by opening of the infarcted artery which can be achieved by fibrinolytictreatment and nowadays by the method of first choice - coronary angioplasty - which can beperformed in somer selected departments. The application of this method as safe and effectivetreatment is apparent also from the case-history of a 34 year old patient in the second trimesterof pregnancy which is presented by the authors.
