Overview

Penile Doppler ultrasound is a versatile and cost-effective tool in a urologist’s armamentarium. We aim to highlight how to apply the appropriate technique and settings to maximize the utility and efficacy of this diagnostic modality. This review provides critical information in the use of penile Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis and management of erectile dysfunction, priapism, and Peyronie’s in addition to the adjunct role it plays in penile fracture, masses, and urethral stricture disease. Our aim is to provide a basic foundation of penile Doppler ultrasound and in context evidence that supports its use in addressing penile pathology.

Key words:
penile Doppler ultrasound, erectile dysfunction evaluation, Peyronie’s disease, priapism, diagnosis
