Overview
The contribution analyzed definitions of biomechanic chains and their individual types from the point of view of biomechanics. Main attention is devoted to properties of open and closed kinetic chains. Particular emphasis is laid on interpretation in influencing the degree of freedom of joints in a segmental model under physiological and pathological conditions.
