Overview

The author defines the problems the analytical commission wishes to resolve during the coming period, based on hithertoassembled experience. It also deals in detail with the problem of income of the health insurance system and the expenditureon health care refunded from the basic health insurance fund and presents the findings in a series of tables and figures. Theexpenditure on health care is analyzed also according to different groups of health care providers: out-patient care, physiot-herapy, home care, X-ray diagnosis, laboratory disciplines, general practitioners, stomatology, in-patient departments. In theconclusion the author discusses the balance of the health insurance system, incl. the drop in 1998 and 1999. Based on thepresented analyses and with regard to the contemporary income of health insurance companies it is not possible to decide ona greater rate of higher premiums as compared with the previous period, to avoid a collapse of the balance of health insurancecompanies.
