Background.
The relationships between selected steroids, SHBG, growth hormone, IGF-1, IGF BP-3 andindicators of glucose metabolism were studied in the group of 20 female patients (15–20 yrs) on long-term treatmentwith low prednison doses (Key words:
glucose metabolism, metformin, prednison, insulin resistance, androgens, IGF-1, growth hormone,IGF BP-3, sex hormone binding globulin, somatostatin.
