The impact of acute stroke on the social domain of patients’ quality of life

Overview
Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of problems in the social area of life of patients after NCMP and satisfaction with their quality of life.
Methodology and characteristics of the cohort: The main research method was a questionnaire of its own design. Statistical analyses used: Chi-square independence test and Cramer’s V. Statistical analysis was performed in the statistical program Jamovi. The basic set of respondents consisted of 104 respondents who surpassed the NCMP.
Results: Of the analyzed social factors such as type of housing (p = 0.338), sense of security (p = 0.596), social support (p = 0.841), no statistically significant relationship was demonstrated. The financial security impact factor (p = 0.001) was confirmed to be statistically significant in relation to patient satisfaction with the quality of life after NCMP.
Conclusion: In this study, findings are presented proving that the most significant social factor influencing the subjective assessment of QL patients after NCMP is the factor of financial security. The issue is a multidisciplinary problem, it is necessary to continue to address and examine it from the point of view of social work, social and occupational rehabilitation, psychology, sociology and other scientific disciplines.
