The article reviews the Global strategy for the diagnosis, management, and prevention of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as outlined in the GOLD (Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease - under patronage of the WHO) publication of November 2006, as seen from the current situation in the Czech Republic.
