Cognitive-behavioral therapy refers to an approach that combines cognitive therapy techniqueswith behavioral techniques such as relaxation training and assertiveness training. Educationis important aspect of multidisciplinary pain management, is usually shared by psychologists,physicians and nurses.Topics of education in pain management are given, they can differentiateconcerning each diagnose. Cognitive-behavioral techniques and education are typically incorporatedas part of comprehensive pain management approach. That can give the individuala sense of control over pain, decrease negative emotions, thoughts and beliefs related to thepain, decrease maladaptive behaviors and increase adaptive behaviors. This, may reduce pain,suffering and disability.
