The author present a brief summarized review on contemporary finding in the etiopathogenesis,standards and prospects of treatment of atopic dermatitis. She pays attention to the mostfrequent errors in treatment and the approach to the patient and mentions practical principlesin particular for local therapy and phototherapy. The paper should serve as an up-to-date reviewfor paediatricians, physicians for adolescents and general practitioners.
