Overview
By the administration of one therapeutic dose of both Ventolin syrup or two puffs of Ventolin inhaler, a seriousalteration of the airway epithelium was produced. The ciliated cells were less altered compared to the secretoryones. After inhalation of Ventolin aerosol, the process of apical blebbing accompanied with the degeneration ofsome free kinocilia and with the impairment of the ciliary border was encountered. After administration of eitherVentolin syrup or aerosol, the goblet cells were stimulated to discharge their mucus. The mechanism of secretionwas accelerated. 30 min. after oral administration of Ventolin, signs of regeneration, resulting in secretory cells’hyperplasia, were noticed. The peak of goblet cells stimulation was recorded 30 min. after inhalation of two puffsof Ventolin aerosol.
