Overview
The study presents selected results of the empirical research on the creation of a maternal tie during thepregnancy. It is based or empirical material which was obtained by interviewing 825 women from Brno in thethird trimester of their pregnancy. The study tried to identify the intensity of the maternal tie of women to theirunborn child using tool not been tested hitherto. The authors succeeded in describing the intensity of the maternaltie in the investigated group. Moreover the authors verified the relative autonomy between conscious attitudes ofpregnant women towards the child (planned, desired child) at the beginning of pregnancy and an emotionallyregulated behaviour towards the child during pregnancy. Moreover, the relationship of cultural educationalmodels of motherhood implemented by mothers of the investigated women in their childhood with the intensity ofthe maternal tie during the present pregnancy was proved.
