Overview

The authors describe the case of a 42-year-old man with refractory itching of the skin persistingfor years and the formation of multiple pruriginous papulonodular lesions on the trunk andextremities. In a bioptic specimen from a fully developed lesion the authors revealed in the dermisproliferation of the capillaries with enlarged endothelial cells surrounded by histiocytes, witha small number of lymphocytes and eosinophils. Mitotic activity was not found. Between capillaryaggregates agglomerations of fine peripheral nerve fibres were found. The histological finding isconsistent with angioendotheliomatosis.
