Insular Flap in Maxillofacial Onco-surgery

Overview
The authors present an account on their experience with the use of insular skinflaps for the reconstruction of soft tissue defects in maxillofacial oncosurgery. This simplemethod was used in twenty-two patients treated on account of dermal and mucosal carcinomasof the oral cavity and face. Optimal results were achieved in particular in elderly patients witha mobile and wrinkled skin.
