Overview
Head of Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care in Pardubice Regional Hospital was one of the key persons forming anaesthesiology as a new specialty. As a former surgeon he paid special attention to anaesthesia and intensive care in traumatology, which later became a main topic of regular biannual autumn conferences of anaesthesiologist and intensivist in East Bohemia metropolis Pardubice, where he spent most of his professional life. Authors summarize important biographical data and his contribution to community of anaesthesiologist and as a vice president of CSARIM.
