Overview
Laparoscopic surgery represents the latest trend, which started some 15 years ago. None of major centres of urology can do without laparoscopic surgery today and those which have developed their laparoscopy skills rank among the most experienced facilities performing even the most demanding types of surgery in oncologic urology (radical prostatectomy, cystoprostatectomy). However, acquiring this capacity requires demanding staff retraining and the necessary material and technical bases. Apart from mastering the basic laparoscopic surgery technique, the surgeon must have the necessary erudition to resolve eventual complications.
