Overview

Besides cardiotocography and pulse oximetry, the ST waveform analysis of fetal ECG curve is another method, used in intrapartal fetal monitoring. The aim is the timely capture of incipient fetal hypoxia. The principle of the method is based on direct scanning of fetal ECG by scalp electrode. ST analysis is routinely used in monitoring of risk births and the births in the series of pregnancy pathologies. Its significance at monitoring premature births is being checked. This method offers new options and the specification of the diagnostics of intrapartal fetal stress.

Key words:
ST analysis – fetal ECG – fetal hypoxia
