Serious Complications Associatedwith the Translabyrinthine Removal of Tumours of the Pontocerebellar Angle

The authors present two case-records of postoperative complications after transla-byrinthine extirpation of tumours of the pontocerebellar angle. Thirty-seven operations were made.Postoperative complications - haemorrhage, meningitis, liquorrhoea occurred in one case each, i.e.an incidence of 2.1 %. In the discussion this problem is dealt with in more detail. The authorsemphasize well conducted anaesthesia, peroperative haemostasis, the advantages of the translaby-rinthine approach, thorough obliteration and intensive postoperative care.
