So far hyperbaric oxygenotherapy has been used very little in everyday medicine, even though it is a non-invasive method, which is very well tolerated by patients in the majority of cases and has a demonstrable positive effect for all states of disease, connected with a vascular disorder. In a group of almost 200 patients with relatively serious traumatic or hypoxic infliction of brain, the author would like to point out the unique role that hyperbaric oxygenotherapy can play in the comprehensive therapy of a patient.
