Overview
The unsatisfactory results of current anti-cancer therapies require the search for new drugs and new approaches. The review summarizes different possibilities of future treatments such as antiangiogenesis, inhibition of metastaticcascade, induction of differentiation. The most promising is to the influence signal transduction and to the controlcell cycle progression. Increased understanding in the mechanisms driving cellular proliferation emerges noveltherapeutics that are more specific and less toxic than classical chemotherapy.
Key words:
chemotherapy, novel anti-cancer therapeutics, antiangiogenic compounds, inhibition of metastaticcascade, induction of differentiation, inhibition of cell signalling pathways.
