Overview

Introduction:
Spiritual anamnesis is very important in the elderly, but in practice the medical staff hardly think about it. The aim of my work was the evaluation of the influence of religion to living of illness in the elderly, the cross comparison of subgroups of believing and unbelieving elderly people and the usability of FICA assessment in the elderly.

Methods:
The questionnaire research was made through the FICA assessment among 112 believing or unbelieving seniors and also anamnestic survey at the presence of chronic illnesses and basic personal history were withdrawen.

Results:
Results demonstrated that believing elderly have their experience of illness better than unbelieving elderly. FICA assessment is acceptable for using in the elderly.

Conclusion:
The outcomes of this work will be used as a basis (pilot study) of other research in this field.
