Overview
Presented is a case report of a young male hospitalized for acute cervical lymphadenitis. Diagnosis of Lemierr’s syndrome was based on the isolation of Fusobacterium necrophorum in blood culture in a patient suffering from cervical lymphadenitis and ipsilateral thrombosis of vena jugularis interna. The authors point to the broad spectrum of affections within the framework of differential diagnostics of the lymphadenitis syndrome.
Key words:
lymphadenitis syndrome – septic thrombophlebitis – vena jugularis interna – Lemierr’s syndrome.
