Overview
Levels of tumor markers (CEA, CA 19-9, CA 15-3, CA 72-4, SCC, CA 125, PSA, AFP, CYFRA21-1, TPA and NSE) can be used for monitoring the course of cancer. We have no serummarkersfor the diagnosis of cancer. Levels of serum tumor markers cannot replace an anamnesis and agood investigation of patients and, of course, endoscopic and visualization methods, we can usethem for the detection of progression. Except for PSA, there is no test of tumor markersrecommended for diagnostic or screening investigations.
