The result of serological titres of rubella IgG antibodies from the sera of patients sampled inAutumn 2001 revealed positive results in 86% subjects of the group of non-vaccinated menabove 18 years in 2001), mainly those at the age of 20-24 years, whereas women of the sameage group displayed 99% positive results; the data were similar to those obtained in 1996. Theseresults were reflected in a 10-fold higher sickness rate in men of these age groups.A suprisinglylow percentage of positive IgG titres in the group of 10-14 years old subjects (82.3% in boys,89.8% in girls) were observed. The groups of vaccinated two - to nine years old children reachedpositive titres in almost 95%. In a group of naturally infected persons above 35 years of age thepercentage of seropositive individuals reached values above 90%.
