The authors present their experience with systemic treatment of one of the most frequent skindiseases - acne vulgaris.In the introduction they deal briefly with the pathogenesis and clinical picture of acne vulgaris.They mention a group of 162 patients hospitalized with this diagnosis at the DermatologicalClinic in Košice. They divided the patients at the beginning according to the manifestations ofacne into groups. Depending on the extent and severity of the skin disease they prescribedgeneral treatment - isotretinoin, antibiotics, metronidazol, and immunomodulating treatment- autohaemotherapy and Polystaphana amp. In the different groups they evaluated the effectof therapy and compared the results with those reported in the literature.
