Overview
The authors describe the symptomatology of factitious disorders. Using the example of Můnchhausen's syndrome they demonstrate the difficulties in connection with the attempt to make an exact translation from one language to another. Especially translation from Germanic languages to Slav ones (and vice versa), where even the alphabet may be different, but also differences between British and American English, contribute to the present confusion in the psychiatrie terminology worldwide.
Key words:
Můnchhausen's syndrome - factitious disorders - psychiatrie terminology - translation of medical terms.
