Overview

The authors present an interesting tase-record of a patient who repeatedly stayed in Bali. During a seven-month period he had three attacks of malaria. His second attack was complicated by rupture of the spleen which called for surgical intervention. The authors emphasize the necessity of rapid diagnosis, correct treatment and the importance of anti-malaria prophylaxis.

Key words:
malaria - anti-malaria prophylaxis - hanging drop - therapy.
