The submitted review deals with possible causes of secondary dyslipidaemia which must ruled out before the diagnosis of primary dyslipidaemia is made. The author discusses obesity,anorexia nervosa, diabetes mellitus, endocrine disorders, sex hormones, renal disease, hepato-pathies, glycogenoses and other less frequent causes.
