Overview
The authors review main principles in the use of enteric nutrition in seriously ill patients with partly orcompletely functional alimentary tract, where a commonmode of nutrition is not possible or sufficient. The surveyoutlines presently used preparations for enteric nutrition at the Faculty Hospital in Prague-Motol with a briefcharacterization. The paper summarizes the ways and complications in the administration of enteric nutrition.Present knowledge of nutritional pharmacology is described inasmuch it is still amatter of research and purposelyused in the administration of enteric clinical nutrition in the therapy of basic disease.
