Overview
Sepsis is characterized as complex activation of the host immune system during infection. The severity of sepsisis closely related to microbe - host interactions. The polymorphism of genes encoding specific proteins in host cellsthat mediate host -microbe interactions plays an important role in elimination of the infectious agens and can leadto either mild or severe sepsis. In this presentation the general view of sepsis including recent recommendation toits evaluation is presented. Brief characteristics of proteins involved directly or indirectly in initiation of sepsis arementioned.
