Overview
The authors evaluate hitherto assembled experience with 25 children with oesophageal varices who were treatedbetween 1993 and 1998 by repeated sclerotizations of oesophageal varices. Because there exists already a standardtechnique of sclerotization and it causes no problems if the equipment is adequate and is used by an experiencedendoscopist, the authors are interested rather in late complications, long-term results and the general comfort ofthese children. The comfort has markedly improved as compared with the period before sclerotization was used.
