Incidence exanthema subitum jakožto výrazného projevu infekce HHV-6 a HHV-7 byla sledována v letech 1969 - 1995 s ohledem na léčbu antibiotiky při některých projevech nemoci a vzniku nesprávně diagnostikované alergie.Význam nových virů je dalekosáhlý a zasahuje do více oborů.
