Overview

The aim of the work was to analyse the group of patients with surgically removed cutaneous malignant melanoma, in whom an another primary tumour was subsequently diagnosed. The group includes the patients followed-up at The Dermatology Department of the University Hospital Bulovka in the years 1989–2003. The retrospective analysis was based on the documentation of included patients. The analysis focused on the patient’s sex, age at the time of diagnosis, localization of primary cutaneous melanoma, histopathological classification, time from melanoma diagnosis to the next tumour diagnosis. The proportion of particular types of second tumours was evaluated, dividing them into malignancies (melanoma and non-melanoma), tumours of other localization (solid tumours and haematological malignancies).

Key words:
melanoma – the second primary tumours – non-melanoma skin cancer – solid tumours – haematological malignancies
