Objective:
Review of findings on pathological conditions with raised prolactin levels.Type of study: Overview.Setting: Gynaecological and Obstetric Clinic, Faculty Hospital Olomouc.Methods: Analysis of data from the literature.Results: The author reviewed the most frequent physiological conditions with raised prolactinlevels, drugs producing hyperprolactinaemia and pathological hyperprolactinaemic conditions,their possible diagnosis and treatment.Conclusion: The author summarizes findings on prolactin and the effect of prolactinaemia inwomen and an analysis of the most frequent causes.
