Objective: The laparoscopic approach in uterine fibroids treatment has been clearly established.Since there is an increase incidence of Caesarean section deliveries and different obstetricalpathologies connected with laparoscopic myomectomy this approach needs to be evaluated. Ourexperience shows 198 cases of laparoscopic myomectomies and their fertility and obstetricaloutcome.Design: Retrospective analytic study.Setting: Institute for the Care of Mother and Child, Prague, Institute for Postgraduate MedicalEducation, Prague, Pronatal Sanatorium Prague.Results: Average age of patient - 33,8. Total number of exstirpated myomas was 367 and theaverage size 2.4 cm (1-11 cm). There was a 44,5% pregnancy rate. The incidence of Caesareansection deliveries was 36%. We didn’t observe any uterine rupture.Conclusion: Laparoscopic myomectomy is a safe operation restoring the fertility potential without increased risk of uterine rupture.
