Objective:
To evaluate the incidence of endometrial carcinoma and the therapeutic results inpatients in the stated time period.Design: Retrospective clinical study.Setting: Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, First Faculty of Medicine, Prague, CzechRepublicMethods:An analysis of the available clinical documentation of the patients of the oncologicaloutpatient service of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.Results: Endometrial carcinoma represents 25.35 % of all malignant tumors of patients in theoncological outpatient service. An increasing incidence has been observed (from 18.4% to 32.6%).The overall 5-year survival is 67.5%. No decrease in mortality has been observed. The increasingnumber of patients with endometrial carcinoma in our study corresponds to the trend of inciden-ce of this disease. There are no screening methods for early detection, 93% of women present withbleeding in menopause or with irregular bleeding in the perimenopausal period.Conclusion: With regard to ther trend of increasing incidence of endometrial carcinoma, it wouldbe appropriate to pay increased attention to asymptomatic older women with risk factors in theirhistory, with the aim of early diagnosis of disease.
