Overview
The investigated group comprises data of 43 patients who were examinedbetween Jan.1, 1996 and Dec.31, 2000 treated and systematically followed up at the authors clinic on account of unilateral or bilateral fractures of the mandibular articular process. Theauthors assembled complete X-ray documentation and made check-up X-ray examinationscorresponding to those made at the time of the injury. The basic demand was to visualize thefracture in two projections normal to each other. Special attention was focused on the rate andquality of remodelling processes. Fractures were classified according to the classificationsuggested by Lund in 1974, as due to its simplicity it fully meets the demands of clinical practiceand at the same time makes retrospective classification according to previously taken X-raysin different projections possible.
