Summary:
The authors describe their experience with the diagnosis and treatment ofcervicofacial actinomycosis. They diagnosed the condition in a total of 12 patients, 11 men andone woman. In two patients the disease was manifested by a tumour of the lower lip, in onepatient the infection was in the maxillary sinus and in nine patients there was an inflammationin the area of the mandibular angle. The most frequently applied treatment was parenteraladministration of large doses of penicillin. In all instances treatment was successful and therewere no relapses of the disease.Key words:
