The presented review deals first with the position of Szondi’s fate analysisamong other trends of depth psychology. The authors submit a detailed ac-count of the life of Leopold Szondi. They make readers familiar with thebaseline of fate analysis and deal then with analysis of pedigrees and Szonditest. They present a review of validation studies of the test incl. the authorsown unpublished data. Based on an analysis of this work they consider Szon-di test a sufficiently validated testing method. They outline also the baselineof fate analytical psychotherapy. In the conclusion some new theories arepresented which could theoretically support the baseline of fate analysis.
